• About Sharesa McCray
    Ph.D., MSW, LCSW, LISW-CP, LCASA

    Dr. Sharesa McCray is a former Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Advanced Rehabilitation Research and Training (ARRT) Program, situated within the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) on Research and Capacity Building for Minority Entities at Langston University. She is a published author, professor, and state board approved clinical supervisor. With over 9 years of clinical experience in for-profit and non-profit organizations, she is now the CEO and Clinical Director, at Essential Pathways Counseling, Wellness, and Consulting, PLLC

    Dr. McCray holds her Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counselor Education, and Supervision from North Carolina A&T State University (2018) and her Masters of Social Work from the University of South Carolina (2014). She obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology/Psychology from Claflin University (2012). Currently she is licensed in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Oklahoma as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (NC) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

    Dr. McCray is passionate about providing a space for healing and restoration in trauma recovery and wellness via prevention, intervention, and educational services. She is currently working towards ASSECT certification as a sex therapist and sexuality educator.

    With 12 years of extensive research experience in social science and human behavior, Dr. McCray is also passionate about educating the next generation of healers and providers in mental health and substance use. Her research on wellness, social justice, accessibility and the African American Community has been published in the Journal of Counseling Sexology & Sexual Wellness and the Journal of Rehabilitation.
